Emenike insists his priority is the trophy not golden boot award
Afcon leading goal scorer Emmanuel Emenike has said that his priority now is to win the ultimate prize, the Afcon trophy and not the golden boot.
Speaking after he scored a goal that took his tally to four in the competition, and 4-1 whiplashing of Mali Emenike said that winning the top scorer award will only be a plus for him after the Eagles might have beaten either Ghana or Burkina Faso on Sunday.
"I am happy that we have been able to prove doubting Thomases wrong by cruising to the final of Afcon. My joy will be complete when we win the cup on Sunday. It has been tough but God has been able to reward our efforts so far.
"We shall continue to work hard till the cup is taken back to Nigeria. The spirit is high in camp and hopefully we shall take that spirit to the final. We want to win for Nigerians and for ourselves.
