Eneramo, Ozokwo On Target in Turkey

Anichebe, Utaka, Aluko fire blanks;
Obi returns to Inter bench

 ENGLAND

Victor Anichebe (Everton): Super Eagles striker Victor Anichebe played for 83 minutes on Saturday before he was substituted by Apostolos Vellios in Everton's 2-2 draw against Swansea at the Goodison Park.

Anichebe came close to scoring in the 30th minute but his header was cleared off the goal line. The game was the 11th of the season for the Eagles striker whose struggles with injury in the early part of the season was key reason for his being overlooked by Stephen Keshi in Nigeria's 2013 Africa Cup of Nations team. The powerful striker has four goals to his credit in the Premier League.

Shola Ameobi (Newcastle United): One-cap Super Eagles striker Shola Ameobi was missing from the Newcastle United line-up on Saturday at the Carrow Road where the Toons were held to a goalless draw by Norwich City.


The striker who will miss the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations due to a clause in his contract with the club which bars him from representing Nigeria was serving a one-match ban after he picked up two yellow cards in the club's FA Cup tie against Brighton & Hove the penultimate weekend.

Sone Aluko, Seyi Olofinjana (Hull City): Super Eagles fringe forward Sone Aluko played for 90 minutes on Saturday in Hull City's 1-3 loss at home to Sheffield Wednesday. The game was the 23rd of the season for the former Flying Eagles winger who still has eight goals to his credit. Aluko was beaten to pace by Sheffield's striker Antonio for their third goal off a counter attack as the Hull defenders were caught off guard in stoppage time.

Seyi Olofinjana was not even listed for the game. The former Brann Bergen midfielder has played 11 times for The Tigers this season.

Osaze Odemwingie (West Brom): Super Eagles striker Osaze Odemwingie was not listed by manager Steve Clarke in West Brom's 3-2 away loss to Reading at the Madjeski Stadium on Saturday. The out-of-favour Nigerian striker has played 17 EPL games so far this season and has scored four goals to his credit.

Danny Shittu (Millwall): Super Eagles defender Danny Shittu who will miss the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations played all 90 minutes on Saturday in Millwall's 1-1 away draw against Bolton Wanderers at the Reebok Stadium. The big centre-back has played 22 npower Championship games this season.

Efe Sodje (Bury Town): Former Super Eagles defender Efe Sodje played for 90 minutes on Saturday for Bury Town at the MK Stadium, the ground of MK Dons, as both sides settled for a 1-1 draw. The game was Sodje's 12th game of the season.

Magnus Okuonghae (Colchester United): Nigerian defender Magnus Okunoghae played for 90 minutes on Saturday in Colchester United's 1-2 home loss against Scunthorpe United at the Weston Community Stadium. Okunonghae  has played 24 League One games this season.

  FRANCE

John Utaka (Montpellier): Super Eagles striker cum winger John Chukwudi Utaka who was left out of the Nigerian squad for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations played for 90 minutes on Saturday home win over Lorient. The elegant forward who had a good game over the weekend still has three goals to his credit this season for La Paillade. Utaka has played a total of 1,062 minutes.

Simon Zenke (Nancy): Former Flying Eagles striker Simon Zenke was not listed by Nancy on Saturday as they drew 2-2 at home against Lille. The Canada 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup star has played nine Ligue 1 games with one goal to his credit this season.

Onyekachi Apam (Rennes): Super Eagles defender Onyekachi Apam played for 90 minutes in Rennes' loss at home to Bordeux on Saturday at Stade de la Route. The former Flying Eagles star who is back to full fitness but was left out of the Super Eagles side to the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations has played seven Ligue 1 matches this season for Rennes. The former Enugu Rangers centre-back has chalked up 499 minutes of football this season.

  SPAIN

Ramon Azeez (Almeria): Former Flying Eagles midfielder and captain Ramon Azeez was not listed in Almeria's 1-1 home draw against Ike    Uche's club, Villarreal on Saturday. The midfielder has played just two games for the Segunda Liga side this season.

Obafemi Martins (Levante); Nosa Igiebor (Real Betis): Super Eagles forward Obafemi Martins failed to score in his third consecutive La Liga game for Levante as they slumped to a 2-0 away defeat against Nosa Igiebor's Real Betis on Sunday.

Martins who replaced Juanlu in the 46th minute nearly had an immediate impact as he brilliantly headed a long-ball over the top. He has scored six times in 14 games since joining the modest side last summer.

ITALY

Joel Obi (Inter Milan): The Super Eagles midfielder who will miss the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations due to his injury at the start of the season was an unused substitute on Saturday in Inter's 2-0 win over Pescara at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. Obi has played only one Serie A game this season and two games in all competitions, with the other coming in a Europa League game against NEFTCI. He scored in the game and was also yellow-carded.

   TURKEY

 Nduka Ozokwo (Mersin Idmanyurdu): Former Flying Eagles captain at the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup  Nduka Ozokwo scored a 50th minute consolation goal in Mersin's 3-1 away loss to Eskisehirspor on Saturday in one of the two Turkish Cup games played same day. The former Enugu Rangers star was in action for 90 minutes.

Michael Eneramo (Sivasspor): Out-of-favour Super Eagles striker Michael Eneramo scored his third Turkish Cup goal of the season for Sivasspor in their 2-1 win against Bursaspor over the weekend. The former Esperance skipper was replaced in the 89th minute by Hayrettin Yerlikaya. He has also scored five league goals so far this season.

PORTUGAL

John Ogu (Academica): Nigerian midfielder John Ogu was not listed for Académica in Sunday's lone goal loss to Paços de Ferreira at the da Mata Real stadium. The former Uniao Lieria player has so far played ten games for the 12th placed team on the log this term.

Peter Suswan (Vitória Setúbal):  Former national U-23 team defender Peter Suswan was not in action on Sunday when Vitória Setúbal trounced Moreirense 5-0 at the do Bonfim stadium. The 21- year -old former Lobi Stars right back is yet to feature for the club this season.
