Coach of Prime FC of Oshogbo, Ademola Adeshina, has showered encomiums on his players for winning the third-place match of this year’s Federation Cup.
Prime FC defeated Kano Pillars 3-1 on penalties after regulation time had ended 1-1. The first goal was scored by captain of Kano Pillars Gambo Mohammed in the first half but Isah Akor equalized for Prime.
“I am very proud of the boys. Even when we were one goal down, I didn’t panic because I told them that what they did against Sharks, they have to do it again and at the end of the day, the boys we were able to equalize."
“During the penalty shoot-out, I told them they shouldn’t make the kind of mistakes they made against Heartland, but in all, I thank God for everything,” he said.
He stated further:
“It is a privilege beating all those big teams because as a coach, I always study my opponents within the first five minutes of play and then give my instructions to my players. I believe the sky is the limit for these players. My advice to other teams is that football is not about size but determination, skill and hard work, and I am happy that my players were able to prove that.”
