KESHI WILL WAIT ON EMENIKE TILL LAST MINUTE

Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi has said he will wait on injured Emmanuel Emenike and Victor Moses till the last minute for today’s AFCON final.

Nigeria face against Burkina Faso for the continental crown in Johannesburg and are sweating over the fitness of the two forwards, who between them have accounted for six of the team’s 10 goals at this tournament.

“I will wait till the last minute and by Sunday we will know whether the boys will play or not, any other opinion is unacceptable,” maintained Keshi.

“I can understand the apprehension of the public over the two players, but we must be a little patient because I know that the two of them want to play in the final and the medical team is working round the clock.”

MTNFootball.com has scooped that an MRI scan has revealed that Spartak Moscow striker Emenike suffered a grade one hamstring injury, which keep him out of action for at least two weeks.

“Keshi could still want to take a big risk on the player because of how important he is to the team,” an official said.
“But from all indications, Emenike has less than 40% chance of making Sunday’s final.

“Moses has a far better chance to play this game.”

For both players, match fitness is not a problem, another official said, because they were in action only on Wednesday against Mali.
